[ingredients]
Propolis is known for being rich in flavonoids (a family of polyphenols). The anti-bacterial activity of propolis helps keep the hive healthy. Propolis is therefore known as the hive’s “natural shield.”
The papaya tree (Carica papaya L.) is an evergreen tree, 3 to 8 m tall, from Central America. The papaya tree is grown for its fruit in all tropical regions of the world. Its fruit, the papaya, is ovular, yellow or orange, and can reach 40 cm long and weigh up to 5 kg. Papain is a natural enzyme found in the papaya fruit's latex, located between the peel and the pulp.
The marsh mallow plant (Althaea officinalis L.) is a beautiful perennial plant, 1 m or more tall, from the Malvacea family (Malvacea is derived from the Greek malake meaning sweet). The plant is covered in a silky, whitish down. The roots, pulled in the autumn when the stems die, are broad and cylindrical. They contain a significant amount of mucilage, a sticky substance that expands on contact with water. The soothing benefits of the marsh mallow plant have been known since Antiquity.
